Who We Are

Solar Powerstations Victoria is a Melbourne-based developer and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm focused on utility-scale solar farms, commercial and industrial rooftops, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the state.

Incorporated in August 2017, we were established to bridge the gap between early-stage renewable ambition and bankable, constructible assets in one of Australia’s most dynamic electricity markets. Our work sits at the intersection of land use, network connection, capital structuring and long-term operations—disciplines that must align before a single module is mounted. Rather than treating development and delivery as separate worlds, we carry projects from origination through commissioning with a single accountable team and documented decision trail.

A Victorian company built for scale

Headquartered at 806/176 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne VIC 3002, we work daily with landowners, councils, distribution network service providers (DNSPs), the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and institutional capital partners. Victoria’s Renewable Energy Target, evolving connection standards and growing corporate procurement appetite create both opportunity and complexity. Our role is to translate policy momentum into projects that withstand technical scrutiny, community consultation and lender due diligence.

Utility-scale solar remains our anchor capability. We identify suitable land, secure options and leases, manage environmental and cultural heritage pathways, and advance connection applications with realistic timelines. Parallel to that, we develop commercial portfolios for manufacturers, logistics operators and public-sector estates where behind-the-meter savings and sustainability reporting drive investment decisions. Storage—whether co-located with solar or standalone—features in an increasing share of our pipeline as firms seek firming capacity and network support services.

How we work with partners

We collaborate with equity investors, infrastructure funds, landowners and offtakers who want a counterparty that understands Australian grid rules rather than importing overseas playbooks unchanged. Joint-venture structures, EPC wrap agreements and operations and maintenance (O&M) handover packages are tailored to each asset class. Transparency on capex, contingency, schedule risk and performance warranties is non-negotiable in our model.

  • Origination and feasibility for greenfield and brownfield sites
  • Grid studies, generator performance standards and commissioning support
  • Full EPC delivery with Victorian safety and quality systems
  • Commercial solar design for complex roofs and operational sites
  • BESS integration, fire engineering and asset management interfaces
We measure success in megawatts energised safely, on schedule, and in ways communities and hosts are proud to stand behind—not in slide decks alone.

Governance, safety and community

Construction and operation of large renewable plant carries real obligations. We maintain documented management systems aligned with Victorian occupational health and safety expectations, environmental licence conditions where applicable, and insurer requirements for high-voltage plant. Community benefit framing, genuine consultation and clear escalation channels are embedded in our development standard—not added as an afterthought when a permit is contested.

Our project controls function tracks cost, schedule and technical variances from a single data environment so owners and lenders receive consistent reporting. Whether you are a landowner exploring a lease, a corporate energy manager evaluating rooftops, or an investor screening Victorian opportunities, you will find a team that speaks plainly about risk and returns.

Our delivery philosophy

We are structured as a developer and EPC organisation—not a marketing-led installer. That means feasibility studies, grid applications and construction methodology are owned internally with named accountability, rather than passed between unrelated subcontractors without interface control.

Hosts and investors receive programme reporting that ties physical progress to connection milestones, safety statistics and commissioning evidence. We avoid capacity announcements that are not backed by realistic DNSP pathways or planning conditions.
